The Musty Attic

learning, reducing, Dao

Two articles just popped up on my scour.ing feed. The first was Learning Adds; Following the Way Reduces. It's a short one, riffing off Dao De Jing Chapter 48.

And right after I saw this headline, In China's Taoist martial arts schools, fighting is only part of the lesson, which has been popping up fairly frequently in different publications the last couple of days, and is attributed to AP, so I might as well link to the Bozeman Daily Chronicle's copy.

And what's so special about these two articles appearing on my scour.ing feed at the same time? Quite simply, the AP article on martial arts schools in Wudangshan strikes me as being a good example of the practical application of the principle discussed in Geoffrey Chen's article.
